UPCOMING CERT TRAINING
You can register HERE |
Why Is There a Need For C.E.R.T.? Each year, many Utah communities are rocked by severe weather, such as high winds, floods or flash floods, winter storms, or by "man made" disasters. The damage caused by such disasters effect everyone! Disasters can severely restrict and overwhelm emergency response resources, communications, transportation and utilities; and leave individuals and neighborhoods cut off from outside emergency support. It is so important you have the skills necessary to take care of your family and neighbors. CERT teaches basic skills needed for day to day emergencies such as fire safety and basic first aid to larger scale emergencies such as widespread evacuation and earthquakes. CERT has been used in emergencies around the world and in our own backyard. YOU are NEEDED! If you don't take the time to do the training, who will? No one cares about your family like you do! Make sure you are trained to help when help is needed. The time is NOW! *If you have paid for and attended CERT training in the past, come for FREE to complete your certification or to brush up on your skills.

Drill Stats
We had a pretty successful drill. We are planning our next drill for April 16th (Thursday), that will coincide with the Utah Great Shake Out. More details will follow in the coming months, however, in the meantime, we are hoping to get more neighborhoods organized with block captains and get more people trained on what to do and where to go in an emergency. If you would like to help out, please comment and we will contact you.
The stats for our October 13th drill are as follows:

Neighborhood Emergency Drill
On October 13, 2015 @ 7pm we will be conducting a neighborhood emergency drill. Our goal is to contact every household in our area.
In an emergency, we plan on using this communication structure to relay our needs to those who would be able to assist us. We will practice using this structure that night.
You should be notified, by your block captain, as to where your block meeting place will be. Some areas are already organized, and some are just beginning. We will still practice and do the best that we can! :) If you are interested in helping out, please comment with your name and contact info.
At 7 pm on Oct 13th, we ask that you go to your block's meeting place, check-in, and help check on neighbors that did not show up. This drill will help us work out the kinks in our communication structure, and help us improve and practice using our radios.
